Lord Jesus, the lover of my soul, my strength and rock, give me the strength to keep standing.  Even in the midst of the storm, I shall not fall but You shall carry me on wings like eagles.  Teach me Your ways, my heart holds on to Your words oh Lord.  While I wait on You, I pray that you strengthen my weak bones and stir up my heart never to loose hope in You.  Because hope differed makes the heart sick but when desire comes it is a tree of life (Proverbs 13:12).  For You promised never to leave me nor forsake me and when I pass through the waters You shall be be with me and they shall not overflow me, when I walk through the fire, I shall not be burned.

I keep standing on Your word for it shall not return to You void.  I stand on Your rock for You are my firm foundation where I am solidly rooted in Your love.  I remain standing, abiding in Your love and Word that my joy will overflow.  I stand for I have firm confident assurance and know within my heart that You will never fail me.  Thank You Lord for answered prayers in Jesus Name Amen

The Lord has brought me this far on a journey, He brought me to a place of entering His rest.  A place of resting in His presence, drinking from the wells of living water and eating His bread of life (Hebrews 4:11, John 4:14, John 6:35).  So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall. Hebrews 4:11 NLT.

We are living in times and seasons when everyone is constantly on the go, busy with work, family, business and other affairs of life.  The ups and downs of life begins to wear you down till you feel tired, weary and your physical body cant cope anymore.  You have so many schedules, official appointments on your calender but no time  to spend with the Lord and rest in His presence.  You have been  burnt out completely, spiritually discharged and depressed or stressed, your physical as well as your spiritual well being is being compromised.

I perceived a great need to write about taking time out with the Lord and being at a place of rest, I mean spiritual rest.  Gary Ellis calls it chillaxing with Jesus. My emphasis would be mainly on finding rest, complete peace and soundness of mind in the Lord.  God worked for six days and rested on the seventh day not because He was tired or weary but had completed the work of creation.   He was well pleased and satisfied with the perfection of His work (Genesis 2:3).

Do not wait until your body cant cope with the pressures of life, consequently affects your physical health before you realize that you need to rest to recuperate from the hustles and bustles of life.  As much as the physical body needs rest so does your spirit being.   After a long day’s work, the body becomes weak, burdened and tired so when you get home, you relax, your long tired feet on the comfy sofa and probably watch your favorite channel or close your eyes in the hope of having a little nap.  During this process, your body gradually recuperates from the pressures of the long day’s work.

God’s promise of entering his rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it. For only those  who believe can enter his rest. As for the others, God said, “In my anger I took an oath:‘They will never enter my place of rest,’” even though this rest has been ready since he made the world Hebrew 4:1,3 NLT

The Lord has promised you a place of rest, a heavenly eternal rest where you can come boldly by faith through Jesus Christ by His grace and mercies to find rest in Him.   The place of rest is the secret place of the Most High where you keep your eyes fixed on Him , trusting Him to see you through every challenging situation .  It is a place of settlement, restoration and soundness of mind where your spirit, body and soul is restored  as He leads you beside the still waters and in the path of righteousness.

He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.3He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name Psalm 23:2-3 NLT

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stably  fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand] Psalm 91:1 amp

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.   11 I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! John 15:4, 11 NLT.

I pray that the Lord would renew your mind, restore your soul and bring  you to the place of rest in Him, resting in his  presence, Shekinah glory.  May you keep your eyes fixed on Him and remain in Him that your joy will overflow.  Lord Jesus give them the grace to keep standing and uproot every spirit of unbelief in your children because You are able to do all that you said you would do.  In Jesus Name Amen.

He leads me (2)

By Ngozi Ngadi
After so many months  of training to be a roadworthy driver, I am glad to say that I have passed my practical driving test for the first time ever in my life.   It takes a lot of courage and determination to keep persevering in life to achieve your set goals.   A while ago I wrote a post about how the Lord leads me using the challenges I experienced on my journey to pass my practical driving test and relating it to my relationship with The Lord.  I spoke about the four key mistakes made which were  not listening to instructions, not applying the right instructions, fear of the unknown and scared of large vehicles, And these were applied to my daily walk with the Lord .
Driving is a lifetime skills that requires taking ownership and responsibilities. My focus this time would be on how I passed my driving test successfully and would use my experience in application to my relationship with the Lord.  Here are seven key points that I used to scale through and how He leads me:
  1. Took note of my faults and correct them: When I made silly mistakes my instructor got really disappointed with me occasionally because he knew I could do better than that.  When mistakes have been made or the wrong path taken, I confess my sins and flaws to Him, keeping it real with the willingness to listen and  to obey His instruction and counsel. Proverbs 3:12
  2. Aim for perfection:  There are points for every minor  faults made and a major faults could cause instant failure.  My main objective was to avoid all major faults and reduce all minor faults so I aimed for perfection.  In my walk with the Lord, I know I am not perfect so I cover myself under His grace, the righteousness of Christ.  So in Him I live and move. Romans 3:24, Acts 17:28.
  3. Did not allow my weakness to supersede: Being aware of my weaknesses, ensured that it did not take hold of me. The Lord knows my weaknesses and strengths but in my weaknesses I find strength in Him by His grace.  1 Corinthians 1:3-5, 1 Corinthians 15:10.
  4. Spoke to my heart : During my driving lessons, I  encouraged  myself by speaking to myself that I can drive, speaking positive words into my heart. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, with Him on my side I have got nothing to worry about.  Philippians 4:13.
  5. Determination and perseverance: There were times  when I felt like giving up, every negative thoughts and reasons why I should not continue with the lessons cropped up into my mind.  However my determination and perseverance to achieve my set goal kept me pressing on and hard.  In life challenges I stand firmly in the Lord who sees me through it all. 2 Corinthians 4:8, Philippians 3:12.
  6. Grace: On the day of my test, I had a good examiner who made me feel so comfortable during the test.  Some call it luck but I say its the favour of the Most High God.  His grace covers me like a shield.  Psalms 5:12.
  7. Prayer:  I prayed to God and He heard my cry.  When you seek Him, you will find Him and when you ask you shall receive.  Matthew 7:7

When I was a little child, I looked up to my daddy (earthly father) for everything.  When he spoke I believed every word  he said and took him by his words because I knew he would always fulfil all that he had promised me.  He was there when I needed a shoulder to lean on, in my openness I would run to him and pour out my heart to my daddy.  He would lift me up and carry me on his shoulders.  At that point nothing else mattered to me because I was in my daddy’s arms.  His words meant a lot to me, his encouragements, corrections and guidance.

There were times when my daddy made promises but could not fulfil those promises due to circumstances beyond his means. My focus  was not on the circumstance but the broken promises as a little girl growing up. However my Father in heaven stands by every word that proceeds from Him for His words shall not return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11).  He watches over his words until it accomplishes its works just as the rain falls down and waters the earth. He is God, He is my Daddy (Heavenly Father) and when He speaks it will happen in His own way and timing.  He does not lie, He does not cheat for He is a God of justice, righteousness and mercy.  “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent.  Has He said, and will He not do?  Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Numbers 23:19 NKJV.  He is the creator of the universe, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.  For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast Psalm 33:9 NKJV.

His words are soothing to heal the broken hearted, encourages you to keep standing in the midst of it all.  His shoulders are there for you to cry on.  Every drop of tears that falls from your beautiful face, He holds in a bottle.   You keep track of all my sorrows.  You have collected all my tears in your bottle.  You have recorded each one in your book Psalm 56:8 NLT.  So trust Him at His words and lean not on your own understanding.  He has spoken, He has commanded, He has promised and it came to pass.  His words are spirit and truth.

Heavenly Father I thank You for You are the pillar that holds my life.  I give You all the glory because there is no other God like You.  Though I may be weak I am strong through You.  For greater is He that lives in me than He that lives in the world.  I ask that You continually strengthen me especially during these difficult times when I feel like giving up.  I run to You for help and support for You are the rock of my salvation.  You said nothing is too difficult for You and with You all things are possible so Lord I am standing on those spoken words and continue to decree it into all areas of my life.  For Your word shall not return to You void.  Lord I ask that that You quicken my spirit as I crucify my flesh for the flesh profits nothing (John 6:63). I soak myself in the abundance of Your love, grace and faith, as I continually dwell in Your secret place, the place of rest where I find peace, joy and satisfaction in You.  Through Christ Jesus I pray, Amen
