Tag: secret place

Over the past few years, I have discovered the essence on spending quality time and being in close fellowship with the Lord.  The more I seek Him the more I find Him, there comes the never ending  hunger and thirst for a closer intimate relationship with the Lord.  Entering in the secret place and remaining there is where I long to be, where  peace, perfect rest and fullness of His spirit is restored.

Jacob’s experience in the secret place

It might seem like the Lord’s promises upon your life is taking so long to come to pass.  The fear of the unknown into a new journey, new direction in an unfamiliar way has made you come to stopping point in your life.  Jacob experienced similar challenges when the Lord told him to return Home after spending 21 years  with his Father in Law (Genesis 32:9).  As he embarked on the journey fear gripped him, he became highly distressed because he thought Esau was after him for all the wrong reasons (Genesis 32:6-8).

Jacob realised straight away that he had to do something for there to be a divine intervention from the Lord.  And he arose that night and took his two wives, his two female servants, and his eleven sons, and crossed over the ford of Jabbok. 23 He took them, sent them over the brook, and sent over what he had. 24 Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. 25 Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him Genesis 32:22-25.

He sent his family away over to the brooks while he was alone with God in the secret place.  When you are alone with God situation changes, the Lord interrupts every plan for your favour according to His will, purpose and plan. Jacob wrestled with God and prevailed, his life, everything about him changed overnight.  He met face to face with the Lord who gave him triumphant victory over every seemingly challenging situation (Genesis 32:22-32).

Elijah’s experience in the secret place

Elijah was at the point of giving up when Jezebel wanted to take his life after killing the Prophets of Baal.  He felt his life was undeservedly worthless, in weariness and He slept under a tree where He had a angelic visitation from the Lord that fed him for forty days and nights (1 Kings 19:5- 8).  After being strengthened, he found strength entering into the secret place to receive words of encouragement and instruction.  Elijah found Him in the still small voice that give him specific instruction for the journey ahead ( 1 Kings 19:9-18).

I strongly believe when you take time out, away from the stress, ups and downs of life to find a hiding place where you are alone with the Lord, He rewards you greatly.  When you are alone with God, praying effectively with all that is in you, your effective communion with the Lord produces effective results.  You will find perfect peace, joy and a settled mind in His presence.   When you enter into His presence heavy hearted you come out light hearted because His yoke is easy and His burdens are light.  There comes the confidence, believe that God is able to do all that He has promised you and the faith within you increases.

The solution to the problems that you have been searching for is in the secret place.  The specific instructions that would cause your business or ministry to increase and expand is in the secret place.  The wisdom, knowledge, insight and divine revelation you search for, comes from the Lord in the secret place.  I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the Lord, who call you by your name, am the God of Israel Isaiah 45:3.

I pray that the Lord would stir up your hearts to find Him in the secret place.  May He give you the secret treasures that is readily waiting for you.  May He open the eyes of your heart to know Him more intimately in Jesus name Amen.

When we pray in communion with the Lord, our utmost desire is that our Heavenly Father hears our prayer. It is essential to understand how to gain access into His presence so that our prayers are not futile. The key to the secret place is the key that The Lord has placed in or given to us  to enable us gain direct access into His presence.

It is important to spend personal quality time with the Lord to develop our intimacy with Him and help us to grow in our relationship with our Heaven Father.    The secret place is a place where you are in communion with the Lord one to one, spirit to spirit and heart to heart.  The key to the secret place draws us into His presence (Psalm 91:1).

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly Matthew 6:6.   Intimacy with the Lord is developed in His presence where your joy is complete and you live life in abundance.

What hinders you from entering the secret place?

Grudges

Keeping malice and grudges against people especially your brothers and sisters in Christ displeases the Lord.  The Word of God encourages us to love our brothers and sisters because we love God and God is love (1 John 4:8).   Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:31-32.  Learn to let it go and lay it all down at the foot of the cross.  Your utmost desire is to enter into the presence of the Lord, therefore nothing shall separate you from the love of God

Bitterness

Bitterness is an emotional reaction caused as consequences of anger, pains, hurts, offense and so on.  When you allow your emotional feelings to take control,  the Holy Spirit departs from you and this blocks your access into the secret place.  You need to guard your heart with the shield of faith against every fiery darts of the enemy and put on the full armour of Christ our saviour.

Offense

When someone speaks wrongly of you or acts in a way that offends you.  Think about the cross and Jesus act of sacrifice that He has already paid it all.  Therefore you choose not to be offended by any words or action that would try to disconnect you from the presence of God.  It is a choice you have to make.   If anyone offends you do not hesitate to forgive them.  As you forgive our Father in heaven will forgive you through the power of the blood of Jesus (Matthew 6:12, Colossians 1:14, 2:13, Ephesians 1:7). Your prayers and entering into His presence could be hindered by unforgiving spirit, grudges that are led by the sinful nature or flesh.

An unforgiving spirit is of the flesh that leads to death for to be carnally minded is death. When you forgive others our Father in heaven forgives you  otherwise your prayers are hindered (Matthew 6:14).  When someone offends you, it is necessary to go back and make peace with the person so that your communion to the Lord would be like a sweet fragrance to the Lord.  The Lord Jesus encourages us to forgive as many times, not keeping records of the past sins but letting it go (Matthew 18:15-16, 21-22)

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God Galatians 5:19-21.

Next week I would expand even further on what opens, unlocks or activates a complete direct access to the secret place.

Prayer is an art of communion with the Lord or a two way communication to God. You speak to Him and in return hear from Him, from you to the Lord and the Lord to you.  My journey as a believer has been a rough bumpy ride, along the way I have learnt to communicate with the Lord wit the help of the Holy Spirit.  In the past, challenges tried to overwhelm me and it  became  tough to pray because my eyes were fixed on the situation.  Now I  have learnt to fix my eyes on the Lord, click here for post on My eyes are fixed on You.   It surely has been a learning process during this period.  What has kept me pressing on is understanding the key importance of prayer and its effects when we pray the right way.  Below are the highlighted the key importance of prayer to me :

DEEPER LEVEL OF INTIMACY: Prayer has developed my relationship with the Lord to a deeper level of intimacy.  In His presence is the vulnerability of a child’s heart.  Opening my heart, releasing every emotional pains, brokenness, bitterness, unforgiveness, laying them at the cross then cleansing and purifying my heart through the blood of Jesus helps me to have direct access through Christ my mediator.  If you search for the Lord wholeheartedly He will find you and meet you at your point of need,  Jeremiah 29:13 NLT.  This requires complete surrender and release to Lord Jesus Christ all your burdens so He deals with it not you but the Lord takes charge.
INCREASED TRUST IN THE LORD: The more you seek Him the more you know more of who He is.  As you know more of Him, your trust in the Lord increases thereby increasing your level of faith, click here for How to build your faith in God.   It is essential to develop a time of seeking Him behind closed doors to receive words of love, encouragement and direction.  Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come Jeremiah 33:3 NLT.

ASSURANCE THAT HE HAS ANSWERED YOUR PRAYERS: The word of God says ask and you shall receive seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall open, Matthew 7:7. Because He is our Heavenly Father He knows whats best for us and He will not give us a stone for bread.  When you pray with a pure right heart He will surely answer you.  And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him 1 John 5:14 NLT.

PLACE OF SECURITY: When you abide in His presence you arrive at a place of rest and security, where your heart and mind is at rest because you are under the shadow of His wings and in the secret place of the Most High, Psalm 91:1 amp.  Prayer helps you to arrive at that place of security.  Never stop praying 1 Thessalonians 5:17 NLT, it is as simple as that never stop praying, praying always in the spirit, thanking Him for what He has done, praising Him and meditating on His words.  Keep persevering, do not give up, keep on praying.  In His presence is where you will find peace and joy, in a time of intimacy with the Lord.
