Thank you

It is so easy to let life pass by and forget every good reason to be grateful to God.  We can get so easily distracted by the challenges, circumstances and the main essence of living.  We can get entangled with the ups and downs,  distresses of life that appreciating God becomes a mere thing to us.  So I took time out to reflect on the seven reasons to be grateful to God.

#1 LIFE

I would like to appreciate God for being alive  as a living being not as a living doing or dead being.  Being who I am in Him not in my efforts but resting in Him in spirit and truth, permitting Him to take full control.   It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life John 6:63.

#2 NATURE

Have you ever walk along the road, in the fields or park with the aim of appreciating His beautiful nature created by Him and most importantly the air we breath.   I am really grateful to God for He is the air I breathe, His presence brings life to  me.  When the wind blows His spirit moves.   He has given us dominion and authority over the fish of the sea, birds of the air, the animals, over every creeping thing on earth and all the earth (Genesis 1:26).  It is a privilege to have full access to the earthly nature and enjoy life in abundance.

#3 FRIENDS, FAMILIES, LOVED ONES AND DESTINY HELPERS

Thank you Lord for bringing alongside my Husband, friends and families to love, support and encourage me.  Life without my loved ones is an aimless worthless one.  I appreciate you all for the Lord using you as an instrument to impact my life especially my loving Husband.  Moreover the people whom I call destiny helpers the Lord has connected me with that helped, guided and mentored me in fulfilling God’s purpose in my life, I would like to say a big thank you.  God has divinely orchestrated it all to fall into alignment with His plans and purposes

#4 HE IS MY PROVIDER

I cant take for granted the fact that He has been my provider from the beginning and will be to the end. My daily needs are catered for (Matthew 6:11).  Knowing that He has a storehouse of secret treasures waiting for me to walk into and possess with boldness and courage of who I am in Him.  It has already been made available so I thank You Heavenly Father for giving me divine access to all that I require and desire according to Your will.

#5 HE IS MY HIDING PLACE

When challenges or problems try to overwhelm me, I find refuge in Him.  Perfect peace, perfect rest is found in Him.  He is my hiding place, my place of refuge, place of rest and restoration in Him.  I have learnt to trust in Him even when my mind cant comprehend but my heart trusts in Him.  Thank You for being my hiding place during the storms of life.

#6 BECAUSE HE IS GOD

I cant complain because You are God, You are the first and the Last.  Everything works out for good because You love me and I am called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).  You called me Your beloved daughter in whom You are well pleased with.  I have a PHL degree (PRECIOUS HONORED LOVED) in You (Isaiah 43:4).  Therefore I am not afraid of who I am in You, THANK YOU JESUS

#7  I STILL STANDING

This year has been challenging for me with problems and circumstances being thrown at me everywhere nevertheless I am still standing.  You never gave up on me and You will never leave me nor forsake me.  These problems have tried to weigh me down but His yoke is easy and His burdens are light.  What a wonderful God He is, what a loving Father He is, I AM THANKFUL TO GOD

There is so much more to write about but these seven reasons to be grateful to God are a starting point,  They are endless, I can never stop thanking God for who He is,  all He has done and will do.  I keep my eyes fixed on Him not on my surroundings, my eyes are permanently set above not below, I look up to the sky and trust Him to see me through it all.

While at work listening to music, the song that drew my attention was Through it all by Andrae Crouch .  I took time out to reflect on the words of the song.  Asking myself questions of if I have been able to trust Jesus through all the trials and tribulations, ups and downs of life, when all around you are not working according to your intentional plans.  Could I really say through it all I have learnt to trust Him all the way?

Trusting God  during challenging times can be so difficult and frustrating because your mind cant seem to comprehend why you dont have a job yet when you are highly experienced in your field of  job application.  Or why your marriage is breaking down and the Lord says trust Me I can and will work it out.  Could it be that you have found yourself in a difficult dilemma that you cant seem to get out off.

With your mind you know what the Word of God states and with your heart you believe.   In my opinion trust has so much to do with the heart than the mind.  Because sometimes you might have a deeper understanding of the Word but do you believe without a doubt, beyond reasonable doubt that He is able and willing to see you through it all.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him,  and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

God allows you to pass through lonely hours of trials and tribulations so you can learn to trust Jesus Christ all the way through till you receive your breakthrough and triumphant victory in Him.

It is time to thank God for those mountains and valleys that you have been passing through in the past and present.   Appreciate Him for walking with you through those mountains and teaching you to trust in Jesus.  As He teaches you through the power of the Holy Spirit, you learn to depend completely on His Word.

He never fails, He will never fail you so through it all can you learn to trust and believe in God ?  His Word remains the same yersterday, today and forever.   When He speaks it comes to pass.  Will you be patient through it all to see the end of the matter, for the end is better than the beginning.

I have taken some time out to reflect on His grace, goodness, mercies and faithfulness in my life as we approach the end of 2012.  Looking back into the past months  and being grateful to the Most High God for keeping me alive and healthy.  When life seemed so tough and tried to weigh me down, my Father walked with me through the fiery furnace, He kept me afloat in the river and through it all He has been with me  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.  When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you Isaiah 43:2 NKJV.

I do not know about you but this year moved so swiftly nevertheless you must appreciate God for all He has done in your life.  Many of us must have set goals at the beginning of year with the ultimate aim of achieving those set targets and some of them have still not been attained.  You must have been wondering what happened  and probably disappointed with yourself.  It is time to pause and reflect on the past months, how has your journey with the Lord been so far? Has all your request or secret petitions been granted?  Take time  to reflect in His presence ……..Selah.  His plans or your plans, His ways or your ways, His timings or your timings.  The Lord knows the end from the beginning of every matter or plan and He has made everything beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

One thing I have learnt to do better and still learning to perfect is to trust God in the midst of all  challenges.  Even when I do not understand the whys, what and hows.  Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV.  This is a key memory verse that has encouraged me to trust God for His directions especially during the stormy days.  There will always be challenging situations or difficult problems that never seems to go away  but the Lord always will see you through it all.  Proverbs 3:5-6 emphasizes on the three steps to take before He can direct your path:
  1. Trust Him wholeheartedly: This means there is no plan B, its the Lord’s wish all the the way.  Not following your ways but understanding the heart and mind of Christ in every situation.  What the word of God says in every situation and act on the word.
  2. Don’t try to figure it out:  Thinking unnecessarily and keeping your mind clouded with thoughts of solution instead of seeking His face for answers will lead you no where.  Renew your mind to the things of the Lord, keep your mind sound and eyes fixed on Him
  3. Acknowledge Him in all your doings: When He instructs, counsels or rebukes be obedient to His voice.  Listen and acknowledge Him in all you do.

Taking time out, away from life’s challenges, the busyness of life and being in a quiet place with the Lord to find rest, peace and be refreshed is a key part of your relationship with the Lord.  During those intimate moments  when He speaks, reminds you that He still loves you, He counsels and gives words of wisdom and knowledge.  Its a moment of Him pouring His love into your hearts, pulling you closer to Him as you cling to the Lord, the pillar that holds your life.  Its a time for  expressing yourself, where it hurts, and keeping it real in His presence like a daughter/ son to Father relationship.

If you have been on the go for most of the year, been so busy with life that you do not spend time to reflect with the Lord,  now is the time.  Now is the time go back to the Heavenly Father and retrace your steps from the beginning, starting afresh.  I pray that as you draw near to the Lord and  He will draw near to you, as you surrender and submit yourself to God, He will bring healing, restoration and make the path smooth for you in Jesus Name.  Amen

Close to God

I wrote this during my moments of spending time in His presence, seeking His face to know more of Him.  You can never get tired of seeking God , Jame 4:8 states draw near to Me (God) and He will draw near to you.   I pray you will be stirred up in your hearts to develop a closer relationship with God.  Releasing yourselves completely to Him and permitting Him to have full control of your life.  The more you spend time in His presence the more you want to know more of who He is, His love, grace and mercies.

From me to You Lord…………………………..

I want to see more of You
Let Your light shine in my heart
Speak to me sweet loving words
I pour my heart to You
In worship and honor of You
The closer I am to You
The more I want to know You
My intimacy with You stirs me up
My passion to serve You
And to fulfill Your purpose in my life

Let every moment of my life be with You
Seeking You always
Very early in the morning as I wake up
And late at night before I go to sleep
As your light shines out
Let Your light be a reflection of Your love

Your awesome mighty power reigns in majesty
Your goodness and mercies endures forever
How great are Your mighty acts
I humble myself before You Lord
Have Your way
Have Your way Lord

Yesterday I attended a Praise Gathering Event, we praised God with our hands, voice, heart and whole body.  Today during my quiet time with the Lord, I paused for a moment and thought about different reasons to Praise God, Selah.  The key main reason that connected with me was because You are GOD.  Because You are God that is why I am praising You.  You created me in my mother’s womb and knew me before I was born.  You were there from the beginning  and not for one moment did you leave or forsake me.  You love because I am  more precious than rubies, gold or even diamonds.

Since you were precious in My sight, you have been honored, and I have loved you; therefore I will give men for you, and people for your life. Isaiah 43:4 NKJV

Have you taken time out, paused for a moment and thought about the million reasons to praise God.  Or you wake up in the morning, brush your teeth, have a shower, put on your cloths and go to work.  Forgetting that He is the one that woke you up this morning.  But you just get on with life, I mean that’s the norm for you.  So what is your  reason for praising and thanking God? Do you really mean what you say or are they memorised words?  Lets appreciate God for who He is……. Because You are God, what He has done and about to do and praise Him for His mighty works.

I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.  12 I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.” Psalm 77:11-12 NIV

In the past I waited for situations to get better or to improve to my advantage before I praised God.  But now I realised that there is a secret to praising God, Praise your way through  your breakthrough if you need a breakthrough.   You enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, rejoice for it’s a new day, Psalm 100:4.  In the midst of it all, I praise God because the devil can’t stand my praise, they tremble at the shouts of praises offered to God.   I praise Him in the storm, rain and even on the dry land.

[Chorus]

And I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

Song by Casting Crowns Praise You in the Storm (Song), Life Song (Album)

Because You are God I have a reason to praise You
It does not matter what  circumstance is, the pains, hurts or frustration I face
Whether I am up or down, happy or sad, sorrowful or joyful I will praise You
When I wake up in the morning, I remember it’s because You are God that I am alive
I travel everyday to work and come back home safely
Travel miles away from home and still come back safely
Then I think about Your grace, journey mercies, and protection because You are God
I think about what You have done in the past for me
How you delivered me from bondage now I am completely free because You are God
I think about my present challenges, knowing that You have seen me through
So Lord I thank You and praise You because You are truly God

Comment on what God has done for you because He is God and praise Him for He is good and His mercies endures forever
