PRAY FOR GRACE

Oh Lord my God, I ask for Your grace to do all that You have called me to do here on earth for my days are numbered.  I know by faith that I can do all things according to Your will through Christ Jesus, I am not afraid to step out in boldness and confidence of who I am in You.

You have enabled me to keep persevering through the ups and downs of life.  Now I can visualise the great and mighty things You have in store for me from Your perspective.  Open the eyes of my understanding and give me wisdom, knowledge and counsel to make the right decisions at the right time in the right place.

I know that nothing is too difficult for You and with You all things are possible.  Thank You God for it is not by my might or power but Your Spirit that is at work in me.   For this reason I can move from strength to strength and enforce your will here in my life as it has already been established in heaven.   You have given me authority to bind and loose, destroy and build, open and close, whatever I activate here on earth is established in the throne room of God.  I decree and declare let your will be done in my life and marriage oh God.   Your ways are higher than my ways and Your thoughts higher than mine, help me to find strength in You and You alone.  Let no other man, idol, living or dead creature take Your place in my heart .   In Jesus Name Amen

In the world that we live in today there is a tendency to worry over how to pay your phone bills, rent, mortgage or the possibility of being evicted and repossession of your property because of the inability to meet up with payments,  You could have received a final warning from the bailiffs to pay your bill.  You are anxious, fretting over all this issues of life.  The questions that crops out of your mind is: how am I going to pay all these bills when I am unemployed?  Where do I go to for help?  Is this how I would continue living my life from hand to mouth?

My answer to you today is dont worry be joyful.  Worrying over issues kills, it is a slow deadly diseases that takes control of your mind, body and immune system slowly becomes weak.  The white blood cells in your body are unable to defend or attack nevertheless perform their roles. It causes high blood pressure, heart attack, depression, arthritis and so on.   So why worry when the consequences of worrying over the day to day problems is overwhelming

The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him. Nahum 1:7

Worry causes you to be anxious, troubled, stressed out and unnecessarily fearful.  My question is to you is excessive thinking the solution or added weight on your shoulders?  Would worries pay the bills? So why don’t you take it one day at a time with Jesus.  The  Lord’s prayers says gives us this day our daily bread (Matthew 6:11).  Let your focus be on today and let tomorrow be planned out.   We are more precious than the birds that does not worry about what to eat or wear but our Heavenly Father feeds them, how much more we His precious Sons and Daughters who has inheritances in His kingdom.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; Philippians 4:6

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things Philippians 4:8.

Dont worry be joyful.  When you the Joy of the Lord is your stronghold nothing whatsoever can weigh you down.  They can try but they would not succeed because He is the pillar that holds your life.  Money and the pleasures of the world can buy you happiness but everlasting joy comes from the Lord God.

 MY PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY

Father I thank you for bringing Your Son Jesus Christ on the earth to die for our sins.  His crucifixion and resurrection  delivers us from the power of darkness into Your marvellous light.  I ask Heavenly Father that you release everlasting joy into the hearts of your Sons and Daughters as they persevere through it all.  May they find rest, perfect peace and restoration in You the author and finisher of their faith in Jesus name Amen.

When we pray in communion with the Lord, our utmost desire is that our Heavenly Father hears our prayer. It is essential to understand how to gain access into His presence so that our prayers are not futile. The key to the secret place is the key that The Lord has placed in or given to us  to enable us gain direct access into His presence.

It is important to spend personal quality time with the Lord to develop our intimacy with Him and help us to grow in our relationship with our Heaven Father.    The secret place is a place where you are in communion with the Lord one to one, spirit to spirit and heart to heart.  The key to the secret place draws us into His presence (Psalm 91:1).

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly Matthew 6:6.   Intimacy with the Lord is developed in His presence where your joy is complete and you live life in abundance.

What hinders you from entering the secret place?

Grudges

Keeping malice and grudges against people especially your brothers and sisters in Christ displeases the Lord.  The Word of God encourages us to love our brothers and sisters because we love God and God is love (1 John 4:8).   Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:31-32.  Learn to let it go and lay it all down at the foot of the cross.  Your utmost desire is to enter into the presence of the Lord, therefore nothing shall separate you from the love of God

Bitterness

Bitterness is an emotional reaction caused as consequences of anger, pains, hurts, offense and so on.  When you allow your emotional feelings to take control,  the Holy Spirit departs from you and this blocks your access into the secret place.  You need to guard your heart with the shield of faith against every fiery darts of the enemy and put on the full armour of Christ our saviour.

Offense

When someone speaks wrongly of you or acts in a way that offends you.  Think about the cross and Jesus act of sacrifice that He has already paid it all.  Therefore you choose not to be offended by any words or action that would try to disconnect you from the presence of God.  It is a choice you have to make.   If anyone offends you do not hesitate to forgive them.  As you forgive our Father in heaven will forgive you through the power of the blood of Jesus (Matthew 6:12, Colossians 1:14, 2:13, Ephesians 1:7). Your prayers and entering into His presence could be hindered by unforgiving spirit, grudges that are led by the sinful nature or flesh.

An unforgiving spirit is of the flesh that leads to death for to be carnally minded is death. When you forgive others our Father in heaven forgives you  otherwise your prayers are hindered (Matthew 6:14).  When someone offends you, it is necessary to go back and make peace with the person so that your communion to the Lord would be like a sweet fragrance to the Lord.  The Lord Jesus encourages us to forgive as many times, not keeping records of the past sins but letting it go (Matthew 18:15-16, 21-22)

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God Galatians 5:19-21.

Next week I would expand even further on what opens, unlocks or activates a complete direct access to the secret place.

Prayer is the vital key product every christian needs to develop a deeper walk with the Lord. Prayer connects you our Father in heaven.  When you pray wholeheartedly, seeking His face He would surely answer you. Knowing how to pray effectively keeps you in alignment with His plans and helps achieve effective results.

Before you present your case before God if you have any grievances, grudges against anyone endeavour to resolve the matter first.  If anyone has offended you or otherwise, ask for forgiveness and try to make peace/amends with them.

Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.  25 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” Mark 11:24-26

So how do you pray effectively?  Elijah knew how to pray effectively that produced effective results.  Elijah had an intimate relationship with the Lord and he was a man who understood how to utilize his authority to command things into being.  Every time he sought the Lord He prayed earnestly until he received an answer.  When he spoke, it was in authority causing an enforcement to manifest on earth as it in heaven.  Elijah made a decree that there would be no rain at his word there was no rain.

And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.”  1 Kings 17:1

Then in the third year, Elijah went up to the top of the mountain to diligently seek the Lord in prayer, positioning himself in a prayer posture that caused him to connect with the Lord and humbled himself in the presence of God presenting his request before the Most High God (1 Kings 18:42).

Each time Elijah went to check if the rain had come he found no sign.  He persisted persevering in prayers, seeking His face wholeheartedly for the floodgates of heaven to open and pour down showers of rain.  At the seventh time the Lord granted his request.

Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’”  45 Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel. 1 Kings 18:44-45

So what can we learn from Elijah the Prophet of God who knew how to pray effectively.  The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit James 5:16b- 18.

There are five key points to an effective prayer that makes things happen:

  1. Earnest prayer:  When you pray, pray to God in spirit and truth, wholeheartedly diligently seeking Him for an answer.  Colossians 4:2 states to continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it and with a heart of thanksgiving being grateful to God for what He has done.
  2. Fervent prayer:  There needs to be a undying passion to keep praying with all kinds of prayer and supplication in the spirit (Ephesians 6:18).  Increasing the intensity of seeking fervently no matter what even in the midst of the challenging situation.  It should not deter you from humbling yourself under the mighty hands of God that you may be lifted up in due time (1 Peter 5:6).
  3. Righteous life: The Lord hears the prayer of the righteous and He is far from the wicked (Proverbs 15:29).  The righteous shall never be moved or shaken so trust God to see you through the storms of life.  Elijah lived a righteous life in obedience to His words and instructions even when he did not understand the end of the matter
  4. Persistant and persevering prayer:  Don’t ever give up on God even when you cannot see the physical manifestation, keep pressing hard after Him, travailing in a place of prayer until you receive the productive results.  Elijah kept praying  constantly and consistently until he saw the sky become dark and cloudy and about to rain.
  5. Divine knowledge of walking in His authority: It is important to understand your position of authority as a royal priesthood, chosen generation  and special people consecrated to fulfill His purpose on earth as it is in heaven.  Elijah walked boldly in power and authority without any fear of man but God.  When you pray to God, proceed boldly before the throne of grace to obtain mercy at a time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

It is time to pray effectively to the Most High God, pray prayers that would produce fruits.  Trust Him at His word for He is a covenant keeping God and He would always fulfill all that He has promised you over your life.  Do not give up on God because He is faithful, loving and He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.

Prayer is the key to maintaining  consistent and  regular communion with God.  It keeps you in tune with the Holy Spirit.  To be able to pray to the Father  effectively, you need to understand what His ways, thoughts and plans are.  Meditate and study the word of God to fully comprehend His ways, thoughts and plans.  Without the Word it is impossible to understand the mind of Christ and the  heart of our Heavenly Father.

Praying in the spirit stirs up your spirit to connect and unite with the Holy Spirit, making intercessions for you in ways that we do not  understand.  The Spirit of the living God is pure, holy and has power to search the heart and helps us to pray for  the perfect will of God over our lives.

‘Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God’. Romans 8:26-27 NKJV

Praying the Father’s heart starts with the act of surrendering your fleshly desires, will, heart, life, spirit body and soul also everything about you to Jesus Christ on the cross.  It is all about Him and not you.  You must decrease and He increase so that His name be glorified in your life (John 3:30).  To achieve this requires your submission of self pride, humbling yourself under the mighty hands of God for His will, purpose and plan to be perfected in your life

In every situation or challenge you experience, discover God’s will and promise through spending time in His presence, praying in the spirit and  in communion with God.  Having a divine knowledge and understanding of His perfect will and plan causes the situation to fall into alignment according to His purpose.  It positions you strategically in place of receiving all that He has in store for you, abundance of His love, divine breakthrough and intervention.

My life of prayer has been a powerful tool to connect with God the Father through His Son Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit to gain divine access to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace in time of need, enforce my royal and priestly authority in the heavenly realms to command what be not as though they were.  When I pray in the spirit, the Lord gives me insight to His heart that is beyond human comprehension and limitation.

I pray that the Lord would open your spiritual eyes to see beyond your human understanding to grasp the heart and mind of God.  He will help you through the power of the Holy Spirit to pray in perfect fullness  His  heart’s desires even in your weaknesses in Jesus Name Amen.
