The Lord has brought me this far on a journey, He brought me to a place of entering His rest.  A place of resting in His presence, drinking from the wells of living water and eating His bread of life (Hebrews 4:11, John 4:14, John 6:35).  So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall. Hebrews 4:11 NLT.

We are living in times and seasons when everyone is constantly on the go, busy with work, family, business and other affairs of life.  The ups and downs of life begins to wear you down till you feel tired, weary and your physical body cant cope anymore.  You have so many schedules, official appointments on your calender but no time  to spend with the Lord and rest in His presence.  You have been  burnt out completely, spiritually discharged and depressed or stressed, your physical as well as your spiritual well being is being compromised.

I perceived a great need to write about taking time out with the Lord and being at a place of rest, I mean spiritual rest.  Gary Ellis calls it chillaxing with Jesus. My emphasis would be mainly on finding rest, complete peace and soundness of mind in the Lord.  God worked for six days and rested on the seventh day not because He was tired or weary but had completed the work of creation.   He was well pleased and satisfied with the perfection of His work (Genesis 2:3).

Do not wait until your body cant cope with the pressures of life, consequently affects your physical health before you realize that you need to rest to recuperate from the hustles and bustles of life.  As much as the physical body needs rest so does your spirit being.   After a long day’s work, the body becomes weak, burdened and tired so when you get home, you relax, your long tired feet on the comfy sofa and probably watch your favorite channel or close your eyes in the hope of having a little nap.  During this process, your body gradually recuperates from the pressures of the long day’s work.

God’s promise of entering his rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it. For only those  who believe can enter his rest. As for the others, God said, “In my anger I took an oath:‘They will never enter my place of rest,’” even though this rest has been ready since he made the world Hebrew 4:1,3 NLT

The Lord has promised you a place of rest, a heavenly eternal rest where you can come boldly by faith through Jesus Christ by His grace and mercies to find rest in Him.   The place of rest is the secret place of the Most High where you keep your eyes fixed on Him , trusting Him to see you through every challenging situation .  It is a place of settlement, restoration and soundness of mind where your spirit, body and soul is restored  as He leads you beside the still waters and in the path of righteousness.

He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.3He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name Psalm 23:2-3 NLT

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stably  fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand] Psalm 91:1 amp

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.   11 I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! John 15:4, 11 NLT.

I pray that the Lord would renew your mind, restore your soul and bring  you to the place of rest in Him, resting in his  presence, Shekinah glory.  May you keep your eyes fixed on Him and remain in Him that your joy will overflow.  Lord Jesus give them the grace to keep standing and uproot every spirit of unbelief in your children because You are able to do all that you said you would do.  In Jesus Name Amen.

He leads me (2)

By Ngozi Ngadi
After so many months  of training to be a roadworthy driver, I am glad to say that I have passed my practical driving test for the first time ever in my life.   It takes a lot of courage and determination to keep persevering in life to achieve your set goals.   A while ago I wrote a post about how the Lord leads me using the challenges I experienced on my journey to pass my practical driving test and relating it to my relationship with The Lord.  I spoke about the four key mistakes made which were  not listening to instructions, not applying the right instructions, fear of the unknown and scared of large vehicles, And these were applied to my daily walk with the Lord .
Driving is a lifetime skills that requires taking ownership and responsibilities. My focus this time would be on how I passed my driving test successfully and would use my experience in application to my relationship with the Lord.  Here are seven key points that I used to scale through and how He leads me:
  1. Took note of my faults and correct them: When I made silly mistakes my instructor got really disappointed with me occasionally because he knew I could do better than that.  When mistakes have been made or the wrong path taken, I confess my sins and flaws to Him, keeping it real with the willingness to listen and  to obey His instruction and counsel. Proverbs 3:12
  2. Aim for perfection:  There are points for every minor  faults made and a major faults could cause instant failure.  My main objective was to avoid all major faults and reduce all minor faults so I aimed for perfection.  In my walk with the Lord, I know I am not perfect so I cover myself under His grace, the righteousness of Christ.  So in Him I live and move. Romans 3:24, Acts 17:28.
  3. Did not allow my weakness to supersede: Being aware of my weaknesses, ensured that it did not take hold of me. The Lord knows my weaknesses and strengths but in my weaknesses I find strength in Him by His grace.  1 Corinthians 1:3-5, 1 Corinthians 15:10.
  4. Spoke to my heart : During my driving lessons, I  encouraged  myself by speaking to myself that I can drive, speaking positive words into my heart. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, with Him on my side I have got nothing to worry about.  Philippians 4:13.
  5. Determination and perseverance: There were times  when I felt like giving up, every negative thoughts and reasons why I should not continue with the lessons cropped up into my mind.  However my determination and perseverance to achieve my set goal kept me pressing on and hard.  In life challenges I stand firmly in the Lord who sees me through it all. 2 Corinthians 4:8, Philippians 3:12.
  6. Grace: On the day of my test, I had a good examiner who made me feel so comfortable during the test.  Some call it luck but I say its the favour of the Most High God.  His grace covers me like a shield.  Psalms 5:12.
  7. Prayer:  I prayed to God and He heard my cry.  When you seek Him, you will find Him and when you ask you shall receive.  Matthew 7:7

Heavenly Father I thank You for You are the pillar that holds my life.  I give You all the glory because there is no other God like You.  Though I may be weak I am strong through You.  For greater is He that lives in me than He that lives in the world.  I ask that You continually strengthen me especially during these difficult times when I feel like giving up.  I run to You for help and support for You are the rock of my salvation.  You said nothing is too difficult for You and with You all things are possible so Lord I am standing on those spoken words and continue to decree it into all areas of my life.  For Your word shall not return to You void.  Lord I ask that that You quicken my spirit as I crucify my flesh for the flesh profits nothing (John 6:63). I soak myself in the abundance of Your love, grace and faith, as I continually dwell in Your secret place, the place of rest where I find peace, joy and satisfaction in You.  Through Christ Jesus I pray, Amen

While writing this post, I thought about Christ perfection in our lives.  In Him there are no flaws or stains but He is perfect, complete and white as snow.   His love for you covers all your sins because you are no longer bound by the law  as a child of God redeemed through the blood of Jesus Christ our savior   Even though you did not earn it, He paid for it all on the cross. Knowing that He is perfect, through His grace He has made you pure and holy, sanctified through the blood of Jesus.   For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified Hebrews 10:14 NKJV.

Think about  His abundant love for a moment , one thing I struggled with was the inability to receive fully His love for me.  I could not understand why He would love an unforgiving, broken hearted girl like me.  It took me years to work into the fullness of His love and permit Him to pour His overflowing love over me.  Being a lady who has been through a lot of pains, emotional baggage and depression, I found myself in a dilemma knowing fully that He loves me so much to die on the cross for my sins and all my sins are nailed on the cross.

Then He began dealing with every detailed issues in my life and delivered me out of the power of darkness into His marvelous light.  His light began to reflect in every area of my life and I saw a reflection of His love .  This was a breakthrough of divine intervention, healing and complete deliverance for me.  All my fears, worries and doubts were thrown away and His divine, unconditional, overflowing and never ending love came into my life and filled my heart.  There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love 1 John 4:18 NKJV.  As a Christian who has an intimate relationship with the Lord, it is essential to understand and reflect more on Christ perfect love for you.  No matter what fears (fear of doubts, fear of trust, fear of heights, fear of loss and so on) you are experiencing, Jesus Christ is love, He nailed all your pains, fears and sufferings on the cross so the enemy has no authority whatsoever over your lives.

You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross Colossians 2:13-15 NLT.

Are you passing through any challenge in  life and you are worried about  the fear of the unknown  creeping in or you are gradually loosing faith and trust in the Lord,  I am here to tell you that perfect love casts out all fears.   His grace and love is sufficient enough to carry you through every situation.  If you do not know where to start, I will encourage you to begin by surrendering your all to the Lord, letting go of every situation that seems to be suppressing you and rolling it over to the Lord because His yoke is easy and His burdens are light.  Your debts have  been paid for already on the cross so you don’t have to suffer for your sins.

We have so much desires, wants and needs that we want from our Lord.  Our daily needs of food, shelter and clothing are necessities that we ask from our Heavenly Father.   Then there are other pressing needs or the secret petitions of our heart that sometimes tries to weigh us down and affect our emotional, physical and mental well being.  Why worry when you have the Lord on your side, to provide for you.

All things are possible through Christ Jesus if you believe without a doubt that He is able to do it all.   Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God” Mark 10:27 NIV.   Everything is possible with God, there is no impossibility with Him because He is God .  Do not limit God and what He can do in your life because He can do exceedingly and abundantly more than you could ever ask or imagine of Him.  I call Him my Daddy in Heaven because loves me so much and I am His beloved daughter so I know that whatever I (His beloved daughter) desires or want, I will surely (stamped and sealed with guaranteed confident assurance) get.

The fact that all things are possible does not mean you should sit down, fold your arms and do nothing.  You have an act to play by faith because faith without works is dead (James 2:17).  By speaking and confessing with your mouth what be not as though they were and acting by faith as if you already have it. If you are loosing faith in any area of your life , spend time in His presence studying the word consistently until it becomes part of you  because faith comes by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17).

With faith all things are possible and His grace is enough to see you through all your challenges.  Nothing, absolutely nothing is too difficult for Him to fulfil all His promises that He has promised you.  He knows your name, He remembers every details of your needs, desires and wants and He will do it in His own time.  You might have been waiting for so long that it seems like His promises and answered prayers are being delayed.  You know what He is always on time.   He turns up at the right time, He is never too late or too early but always on time.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father I pray for those who have given up on You that do not believe You can do it all and have lost trust in You.  Lord God I pray that You will open their eyes to see You for who You really are because You are God.  The God of all possibilities, the God who made a way where there seemed to be no way and the God who is always on time.  I pray that You will bring healing and restoration to their souls and You will stir up their hearts to trust and believe You more than ever.  I stand in faith through Your abundant grace that nothing is too difficult for You.  To God it’s just a simple matter.  In Jesus Name I Pray Amen.
