Sometimes we allow situations to rule over us while we become their subjects, When you are subjected to a problem or circumstance it takes absolute control over your life, wherever it dictates or directs is where you move or obey. Suddenly it feels as if there is no God and it is over.
While at work listening to music, the song that drew my attention was Through it all by Andrae Crouch . I took time out to reflect on the words of the song. Asking myself questions of if I have been able to trust Jesus through all the trials and tribulations, ups and downs of life, when all around you are not working according to your intentional plans. Could I really say through it all I have learnt to trust Him all the way?
Trusting God during challenging times can be so difficult and frustrating because your mind cant seem to comprehend why you dont have a job yet when you are highly experienced in your field of job application. Or why your marriage is breaking down and the Lord says trust Me I can and will work it out. Could it be that you have found yourself in a difficult dilemma that you cant seem to get out off.
With your mind you know what the Word of God states and with your heart you believe. In my opinion trust has so much to do with the heart than the mind. Because sometimes you might have a deeper understanding of the Word but do you believe without a doubt, beyond reasonable doubt that He is able and willing to see you through it all.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
God allows you to pass through lonely hours of trials and tribulations so you can learn to trust Jesus Christ all the way through till you receive your breakthrough and triumphant victory in Him.
It is time to thank God for those mountains and valleys that you have been passing through in the past and present. Appreciate Him for walking with you through those mountains and teaching you to trust in Jesus. As He teaches you through the power of the Holy Spirit, you learn to depend completely on His Word.
He never fails, He will never fail you so through it all can you learn to trust and believe in God ? His Word remains the same yersterday, today and forever. When He speaks it comes to pass. Will you be patient through it all to see the end of the matter, for the end is better than the beginning.

When challenges tries to suppress you especially during the stormy rain or when everything around you is not going as planned, there is the tendency for you doubt if God really exists, questions your faith and believe in God. Have you found yourself at a crossroad not knowing what to do, where to go and you are stuck in the same position because of your unbelief.
Usually Faith is not the issue but the ability to believe that God is able to do it. The measure of faith does not matter as the word states that if you have faith as a mustard seed you can move mountain (Matthew 17:20). It does not matter how small your faith is but a firm conviction in your heart that He is capable of doing what He has promised. The disciples could not cast the demon out of the boy because of their unbelief (Matthew 17:14-20)
UNDERSTANDING WHAT FAITH AND BELIEVE MEANS
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not yet seen (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is visualizing your expectations in the spirit realm and calling it forth into physical manifestation.
Belief is the firm, confident assurance and trust in someone or a system. It can also be defined as the mental acceptance of a conviction in the truth, actuality or validity of something. Believe is the verbal term for belief and can be classified as an action word.
When doubts in God’s ability to do what He has already promised creeps in, then it means your believe in God is unstable. A sudden question of trust, complete dependence on God for support and confidence in Him creates a lingering effect on the ability to believe in God.
It is time to ask Him through the power of the Holy Spirit to help your unbelief. Your heart’s cry to God should be “Lord help my unbelief ” just as the Father of the boy possessed by the demon asked the Lord in desperation to help his unbelief so that the boy will receive his complete healing (Mark 9:23-24).
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” Romans 10:10-11 NKJV
Believing in the Lord can be developed through studying the word, spending time in His presence and in communion with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit . Most of all praying and fasting (Matthew 17:21). Believe is the conviction of the heart to decree/declare and confess with your mouth that no matter what, in the midst of it all I believe that God is able to do just what He said He would do. Therefore nothing whatsoever should separate you from the love of God, not life or death, not principalities or powers, not in good health or sickness, absolutely nothing shall separate from the love of God (Romans 8:37-39)

The Lord has brought me this far on a journey, He brought me to a place of entering His rest. A place of resting in His presence, drinking from the wells of living water and eating His bread of life (Hebrews 4:11, John 4:14, John 6:35). So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall. Hebrews 4:11 NLT.
We are living in times and seasons when everyone is constantly on the go, busy with work, family, business and other affairs of life. The ups and downs of life begins to wear you down till you feel tired, weary and your physical body cant cope anymore. You have so many schedules, official appointments on your calender but no time to spend with the Lord and rest in His presence. You have been burnt out completely, spiritually discharged and depressed or stressed, your physical as well as your spiritual well being is being compromised.
I perceived a great need to write about taking time out with the Lord and being at a place of rest, I mean spiritual rest. Gary Ellis calls it chillaxing with Jesus. My emphasis would be mainly on finding rest, complete peace and soundness of mind in the Lord. God worked for six days and rested on the seventh day not because He was tired or weary but had completed the work of creation. He was well pleased and satisfied with the perfection of His work (Genesis 2:3).
Do not wait until your body cant cope with the pressures of life, consequently affects your physical health before you realize that you need to rest to recuperate from the hustles and bustles of life. As much as the physical body needs rest so does your spirit being. After a long day’s work, the body becomes weak, burdened and tired so when you get home, you relax, your long tired feet on the comfy sofa and probably watch your favorite channel or close your eyes in the hope of having a little nap. During this process, your body gradually recuperates from the pressures of the long day’s work.
God’s promise of entering his rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it. For only those who believe can enter his rest. As for the others, God said, “In my anger I took an oath:‘They will never enter my place of rest,’” even though this rest has been ready since he made the world Hebrew 4:1,3 NLT
The Lord has promised you a place of rest, a heavenly eternal rest where you can come boldly by faith through Jesus Christ by His grace and mercies to find rest in Him. The place of rest is the secret place of the Most High where you keep your eyes fixed on Him , trusting Him to see you through every challenging situation . It is a place of settlement, restoration and soundness of mind where your spirit, body and soul is restored as He leads you beside the still waters and in the path of righteousness.
He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.3He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name Psalm 23:2-3 NLT
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stably fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand] Psalm 91:1 amp
Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. 11 I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! John 15:4, 11 NLT.
I pray that the Lord would renew your mind, restore your soul and bring you to the place of rest in Him, resting in his presence, Shekinah glory. May you keep your eyes fixed on Him and remain in Him that your joy will overflow. Lord Jesus give them the grace to keep standing and uproot every spirit of unbelief in your children because You are able to do all that you said you would do. In Jesus Name Amen.

Faith is a key ingredient for every Christian, therefore it is essential for us to develop our faith through Christ. When you experience trials or are passing through the storm, how do you build up your faith? Firstly it is important to understand the meaning of faith. One of my favorite verses in bible is Hebrews 11:1 : Faith is a substance of things hoped for evidence of things not yet seen. Faith is standing under the word to expect your expectations. Faith is going beyond your limitations to visualise the expected end. Faith is the making the impossible things possible through Christ Jesus, it is calling those things that do not exist as though they did (Romans 4:17). Faith is the currency in the Kingdom of God.
It has been a long journey as a christian discovering my true identity in Christ Jesus and learning how to establish my faith in God. Along the road, I have had to trust God all the way, even when it looks like nothing is happening, I know my God has better plans and purpose in my life (Isaiah 55:8-11). Here are a few points to teach you how to build your faith in God
- Meditate: Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17). It is very important to meditate on the word of God because it encourages you when you are feeling down and discouraged. When I feel like life is all over and I have reached the end of the road, I search, study and meditate on the words in the bible that speaks about healing, peace, joy and so on. This comforts me, stirs up my heart and brings healing to my broken heart (Psalm 34:18). Or when I am loosing hope in any situation, I remind myself of the authority I have in Christ then begin to decree and declare a change in that situation. I eat, drink and sleep the word, it becomes a part of me stored up on the inside ready to burst out anytime fulfilling its purpose upon my life and those around me
- Believe: Not doubting God and what He can do, has been a learning process for me. When I look back and remind myself what I had prayed to God for and it came to pass according to His will, my faith in Him increases. I learn to trust Him more because I know He would do it again and again but it will be done in His own timing and way. Dwelling in His presence, being in tune with Him to understand His desires has enabled me to know how He works, my heart becomes entwined with His and my spirit becomes united with His spirit then we become one 1 Corinthians 6:17. Do not be double minded with what the Lord can do in your life, because He a great God and works in mysterious ways. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways . (James 1:6-8). Believe God when He says He would do it, He not a man that would lie or change His mind, when He speaks it will be done (Numbers 23:19).
- Fellowship: Fellowshipping with like minded Christians been a great motivation for me. When I need a friend to talk to, pray with, I speak to selected friends who have a deep relationship with God. Trusted friends who are there to encourage you and let you know that you are not alone. Attending a church that is rooted and grounded in the word is very critical for spiritual growth in the Lord. Having Pastors, Leaders in the church to guide you especially in stormy seasons of your life improves your faith in God because you know that there are like minded Christians out there with the love of Christ to reach out to you and support you.
