Reflection Time
I have taken some time out to reflect on His grace, goodness, mercies and faithfulness in my life as we approach the end of 2012.  Looking back into the past months  and being grateful to the Most High God for keeping me alive and healthy.  When life seemed so tough and tried to weigh me down, my Father walked with me through the fiery furnace, He kept me afloat in the river and through it all He has been with me  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.  When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you Isaiah 43:2 NKJV.

I do not know about you but this year moved so swiftly nevertheless you must appreciate God for all He has done in your life.  Many of us must have set goals at the beginning of year with the ultimate aim of achieving those set targets and some of them have still not been attained.  You must have been wondering what happened  and probably disappointed with yourself.  It is time to pause and reflect on the past months, how has your journey with the Lord been so far? Has all your request or secret petitions been granted?  Take time  to reflect in His presence ……..Selah.  His plans or your plans, His ways or your ways, His timings or your timings.  The Lord knows the end from the beginning of every matter or plan and He has made everything beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

One thing I have learnt to do better and still learning to perfect is to trust God in the midst of all  challenges.  Even when I do not understand the whys, what and hows.  Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV.  This is a key memory verse that has encouraged me to trust God for His directions especially during the stormy days.  There will always be challenging situations or difficult problems that never seems to go away  but the Lord always will see you through it all.  Proverbs 3:5-6 emphasizes on the three steps to take before He can direct your path:
  1. Trust Him wholeheartedly: This means there is no plan B, its the Lord’s wish all the the way.  Not following your ways but understanding the heart and mind of Christ in every situation.  What the word of God says in every situation and act on the word.
  2. Don’t try to figure it out:  Thinking unnecessarily and keeping your mind clouded with thoughts of solution instead of seeking His face for answers will lead you no where.  Renew your mind to the things of the Lord, keep your mind sound and eyes fixed on Him
  3. Acknowledge Him in all your doings: When He instructs, counsels or rebukes be obedient to His voice.  Listen and acknowledge Him in all you do.

Taking time out, away from life’s challenges, the busyness of life and being in a quiet place with the Lord to find rest, peace and be refreshed is a key part of your relationship with the Lord.  During those intimate moments  when He speaks, reminds you that He still loves you, He counsels and gives words of wisdom and knowledge.  Its a moment of Him pouring His love into your hearts, pulling you closer to Him as you cling to the Lord, the pillar that holds your life.  Its a time for  expressing yourself, where it hurts, and keeping it real in His presence like a daughter/ son to Father relationship.

If you have been on the go for most of the year, been so busy with life that you do not spend time to reflect with the Lord,  now is the time.  Now is the time go back to the Heavenly Father and retrace your steps from the beginning, starting afresh.  I pray that as you draw near to the Lord and  He will draw near to you, as you surrender and submit yourself to God, He will bring healing, restoration and make the path smooth for you in Jesus Name.  Amen
