When I woke up this morning, all I could think about was God’s divine grace over my life. The unmerited favour that goes before me to make the crooked path smooth. I believe strongly that He can do so much more beyond your imagination and comprehension in your life (1 Corinthians 2:9). Therefore what does His grace mean to you?
His grace to me means that even though I do not deserve all that He has given me, I still have it. I have divine privileged access to His abundant grace that covers me. For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favour You will surround him as with a shield Psalm 5:12 NKJV. Even in my imperfections, brokenness and flaws, I am His righteousness, the righteousness of Christ. Everything I do is not in my effort but by His might, anointing and Holy Spirit so He carries me through the stormy weather and the turbulent seasons. When it seems like there is no way He makes a way for me.
The definition of grace according to Wikipedia is “the love and mercy given to us by God because God desires us to have it, not because of anything we have done to earn it”. Furthermore, It is understood by Christians to be a spontaneous gift from God to mankind – “generous, free and totally unexpected and undeserved” – that takes the form of divine favour, love and clemency.
In my understanding grace is beyond mercy and love. Therefore there is a great difference between grace and mercy or kindness. Another word for grace is favour which is widely used and familiar. Deb Wolf emphasized more in detail about the important difference between grace and kindness.
God’s grace has empowered us to do what ordinarily we could not have done. It’s a supernatural empowerment that keeps you standing in the midst of it all. Paul pleaded with the Lord three times that the thorn in the flesh given to him would depart from him. It was not specific what the thorn was however the Lord’s reply was that His grace is enough and sufficient to see him through.
And the Lord said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me 2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV.
My declaration to you all is that His grace would empower you to do all things, climb the highest mountains, stand the test of time through Christ who strengthens you. He has given you the enablement that guarantees your triumphant victory because you are overcomers by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony.
So Father we thank You for Your grace that is enough for us through Christ Jesus who has empowered us to stand and rejoice in You that Your name may be glorified in the knowledge that trials tribulations produces perseverance, perseverance encourages us to be more Christlike and have hope in You, the author and finisher of our faith. May Your overflowing spirit of love be poured into our hearts and bring us to a place of complete satisfaction and abundance of your grace. In Jesus Name Amen
