When you are heartbroken, bitter, discouraged, unwilling to forgive and forget the past pains and troubles that you have held onto for so long that wounded your heart. There is no desire to let it go and let God take control but you prefer to take matters into your hands because you feel the battle is yours and not the Lord’s. You cant forgive the one who hurt you so deeply because you feel the pain so much that you do not know how to receive your perfect healing and restoration. Forgiving yourself for what you put yourself through, being a victim of circumstance in a place of vulnerability or the past mistakes you made and you find yourself constantly blaming yourself for all the wrongs you made becomes a norm. So whats next and where do you go from here ? Is there still hope for healing a broken heart?
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit. Psalm 34:18
He is the closest Person you can commune and connect with, keeping it real in His presence. The Lord God, our Heavenly Father is open to hear and heal your pains. He is the restorer of your soul and your stronghold in times of trials. It is time to surrender completely to God asking Jesus our redeemer to mediate on you behalf. For it is through Christ Jesus, the way the truth and life, with the help of the Holy Spirit that you can gain access to the throne of grace to obtain mercy in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
Start by permitting Him full access to your heart and let the Holy Spirit fill your heart with His love, faithfulness, joy, righteousness and the fullness of His Spirit. However you have to let go of the past pains, discouragements, bitterness and much more. Sometimes it can be so difficult I must confess but when you walk with Him, He makes it easy.
Are you ready to take that step of faith and allow Him work it out. In areas where you have not forgiven yourself for your past mistakes or being a victim of circumstance. I have found verbal confession or declarations of forgiveness of sins and making a fresh start. You could confess out loudly ” Father I forgive myself for all the past mistakes of (name them ) and from today onwards I take no responsibily for them all because Christ Jesus has redeemed me from all my sins and healed my broken heart. As I nail them at the cross, I publicly testify that I am free from the spirit of unforgiveness, In Jesus Name, Amen. It is important to forgive the offender or abuser and pray for the person in a loving, merciful and compassionate way. When that is done it becomes much easier to ask our Heavenly Father to forgive you of all your sins.
I strongly believe that He is ready and willing to heal your broken heart as long as you surrender it all to Him in openness and honesty. There is nothing you can hide from Him and there is nothing hidden under the sun but He desires that you approach Him as a daughter/son runs to their Father in a place of helplessness for Him to rescue you. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
MY PRAYER FOR YOU
Father I thank You for offering you Sons and Daughters to approach You in a place of humility and helplessness and I ask that you heal their broken hearts and bring restoration to their souls. Let Your light shine in their heart and illuminate every dark patches that needs to be surrendered to You. And as they surrender it all in a place of obedience, bind up their wounds and make them wholehearted once again. In Jesus Name Amen
