I thought about what to blog on and I reflected immensely on how the ups and downs of life challenges could hinder us from walking into the fullness of all that He has in store for us. It all starts with our thought process. The enemy has no access whatsoever to what you are thinking about until you speak out then strategies are devised to counteract His purpose driven plans. This is the power of the mind. That is where the battlefield lies.
Satan is very deceptive and manipulative in his ways therefore would try to plant destructive, suicidal, confusing thoughts by making you presume they are your own human thinking. When you act on those processed thoughts that has been planted as a seed by him then you have given the enemy the upper hand.
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you. Proverbs 23:7
I have grown to discover and utilise my mindset in Christ as a weapon of attack. As I matured in my spiritual walk with the Lord I understood the tactics of the enemy was based on intelligent data information collection. They work as agents of lies, deception, who come to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10, John 8:44, 2 Corinthians 11:14, Revelation 12:9 ). Ungodly, demonic, toxic thoughts could be sown into your mindset depending on the challenges you experience. You have two choices either to feed those thoughts and permit your pains or trials overcome you or cast them out authoritatively in the name of Jesus then feed your mind with the truth which is the Word of God.
What you feed you mind with based on your five spiritual senses (see, hear, smell, tasted and feel ) determines your consequent reaction (Hebrews 5:14). With your eyes you see visualising the hope of tomorrow; with your ears you hear the Word and mature in faith; with your mind you know for you have the mind of Christ and the heart of the Father; with your heart you believe without a doubt for the manifestation of His promises ( Hebrews 11:1, Romans 10:17, 1 Corinthians 2:16, Romans 10:10 )
It is important to think before you speak because once spoken it cannot be retrieved, the spoken word is sent forth to accomplish that which you assigned it to do. Ask the Holy Spirit to set a watch on your mouth and watch the door of your lips (Psalm 141:3).
The power of the mind is a weapon of attack that the enemy tries to penetrate in other to oppress, obsess, depress, suppress and possess you. The battle starts with the mind and ends with the mind in a place of prayer and deeper intimacy with the Lord
Consequently, watch out for part two of the power of the mind, that emphaises more on the steps to overcoming the enemy using the mind as a weapon of attack. This is discovered in the Word of God from 2 Corinthians 10:4-5. I pray that the Lord renews your mind, giving you a new mindset continually on a daily basis to stand firm in every trials and test of life. Amen
